The saga of TROLL BENDS FIR has started at the dawn of the century. ‘Tis then Troll got tired of playing Viking-metal with Noman’s Land and considered creating some more positive, merry and “beer” music based on the Scandinavian folklore. With the help of secret phone rituals he summoned Jethra to his aid. She was dreaming of switching from some folk bands to a metal band at a time. And so the band called TROLL BENDS FIR was born and it was destined to become famous.

To tell the truth, no one believed that the band is going to be a success except for the musicians themselves. But those never gave up having been heated by the burning flame of joy and merriment, which their songs generated. Soon, however, they were no longer alone —the first demo-recording issued in 5000 copies as a promo for clubs was immediately swept away.
It is then the style of the rising band was defined and here it is in short. TROLL BENDS FIR praise the Brew of the Gods in their songs and use folk instruments and tunes — how else could one describe them other than the «Beer Folk»? The music of TROLL BENDS FIR is undoubtedly rooted in the spirit of Scandinavian folk songs. Folk songs are the songs of the people, and the band members are the part of the people too (who dares to question this?). That means, everything that the band’s members do is folk! And Beer Folk is the music which the folks make up having drunk some beer. Ideally that sort of music must have an effect on the listener which can only be compared to drinking a couple of bottles of the finest brew. The cheerful invigorating magic of beer is in this way transformed from a simple nutrition process to a spiritual experience.
The music of TROLL BENDS FIR is soaked throughout by this magic. The heady feeling is guaranteed just by listening to it, even without drinking beer. No wonder that in their home city TROLL BENDS FIR are jokingly referred to as «audiobeer».
There was always more to come, yet nothing could stop the ever-merry Trolls. They have started their recording spree making an album each two years while never failing to follow their tours all around Russia. Without any support from radio stations or TV-channels, devoid of the promotion of powerful labels the band still conquered the hearts of more and more fans. Soon every city was singing along at the concerts of TROLL BENDS FIR.
The true love of band’s listeners has drawn the attention of high and mighty of the show-business world onto the band. TROLL BENDS FIR have made their way to the largest music festivals of Russia and have established a reputation of an acclaimed open-air band. Not a man can resist dancing when TROLL BENDS FIR play —their music just throws you into the dance!
The line-up of the band has repeatedly changed over the years but the two frontmen, Troll and Jethra, have always remained its creative core and kept brewing the heady nectar of TROLL BENDS FIR. In their lyrics TROLL BENDS FIR glorify the Divine Brew and tell some amusing tales featuring the characters of Scandinavian and European epos. The music of TROLL BENDS FIR represents all the beauty and vigour of folk melodies, which are empowered by driving rock rhythms. From the resulting mix emerges the unique distinctive style of the band. The style of music invented by TROLL BENDS FIR has already given a rise to numerous followers. But the Kings of Beer Folk have remained unsurpassed in their liveliness, drive and incredible energy, which turn a random listener into the band’s fan. This magical power involves everyone into the circle of Brothers in Hops!
It is not that easy to keep the traditions alive. In order to keep them going one may advance them into a new form where they will shine through at their best and reach the modern listener for certain. It can surely be stated that TROLL BENDS FIR are carrying out this mission most successfully. But what words can tell. Better get their recordings or listen to them live —and you will want to do it again, and again, and again. Hey! Fill ‘em up!!
